Happy New Year 2010!
2009 was a crazy year for many people. A new President, the rise of social media, and an economic catastrophe were only a few of the events that shaped the past year. So what comes next?
Many people have made their predictions of what will happen in the coming year. A few of the more interesting are those of Anthony Richardson, the Cutter Consortium, ReadWriteWeb, and CNN.
It’s great to know the macro-trends, but they don’t shape everything. And after all they are only predictions of what could happen.
But what will you make happen?
Choose Your Own Adventure
When I was younger I read a great series of books called Choose Your Own Adventure. At various points in the book, you could determine the way you wanted to go. With a number of potential paths to travel, the story could end many different ways.
This is how I want you to see 2010.
What do you want to accomplish this year? Now I don’t mean new years’ resolutions; I mean, what do you want to accomplish this year in the Chris Brogan sense? How will you get there? What does success look like? How will you feel when you get there?
Looking at the macro-trends of the predictors we see that there is a lot coming. Some affects and effects us, and some does not. Â But we get to choose our own path to happy destiny.
