    Hi Robert,
Thanks for your tutorial, I found it quite helpful. However after completing it, java -version is still reporting that I have java version 1.5 . I'm running OS X version 10.5.8 with an Intel core 2 duo, which is definitely a 64-bit computer. I downloaded the 64-bit JDK from your link above. Was that correct?
Also, I never had to enter a username/password to download the JDK.
I've double checked the classpath in ~/.profile
What do you think the problem could be?

    Hi again,
Sorry for wasting your time. I saw on the other blog that this won't work with a PPC Mac. Thanks anyways
  • Not a waste of time Rich. Good luck.

    Hi,
Thanks for your help and the video. I'm on a G4 PPC 10.4.11. Does this still work? My .profile file is very different than yours. I have nothing written after the export $PATH. Thanks for your time.

  • Hello Matthewhart,

That little window in the video is the Terminal. You can open it using Spotlight, or by finding it in the Utilities folder.
