If your customers need to read a manual to figure out how to use your web apps, you’ve failed.

There are many ways other than using a manual to help your users get to know your application. We use three:

  • Great design
  • Inline help
  • Video

With scrum’d, we went through many design iterations to make the app as easy as possible to use. We use drag-and-drop like it’s going out of style. We also work off of a base design to maintain a consistent look and feel across our entire AppSuite. If you can use one of our apps, you can use them all.

Our inline help system looks like this:

Video is the best though. Personally, I’d rather watch a 2-5 minute video that explains something to me than read a bunch of text. We’re working on a series of help videos to supplement the inline help on scrum’d. The more involved the feature, the more likely a quick video will work best.
